A five-part series of webinars, led by John Holmes, looking at how evidence on cognitive science and deliberate practice can be applied to medium and long term curriculum planning.

Each session will run from 3.30pm – 4.30pm and provide opportunities for discussion with fellow participants.

  1. Why curriculum planning matters: getting the right goals (1st May)
    Designing meaningful composite curriculum outcomes will make the curriculum more memorable.
  2. Composite knowledge (13th May)
    Breaking composite curriculum goals into component chunks supports progress.
  3. Sequencing: coherence and progression (6th June)
    How you can make a curriculum that introduces new content and still feels like a holistic, unified entity.
  4. Interleaving (21st June)
    Combining different topics to support learning.
  5. A rich curriculum (1st July)
    Supporting learning through the provision of a rich curriculum.
