Stacey Jordan – Research School Director
Stacey Jordan has worked across four senior leadership teams over the past 25 years and most recently served for nearly ten years as a headteacher in a large secondary school in the West Midlands. The majority of her professional career has been set in Sandwell and she has always worked in schools with high deprivation and disadvantage.
Stacey is an English teacher by trade, but has taught drama and film studies too for many years. She has led workshops and coaching programmes across a number of schools, working with a number of trusts and universities too. Her passions in education are English, literacy, pedagogy and leadership development. Stacey also works as a School Improvement Advisor and a Leadership Coach.
Charlotte Close – Operational Lead
Charlotte has worked in education for over 15 years, with 10 years in Senior Leadership. During this time, she has led English, Maths and a range of foundation subjects in primary settings, with a particular focus on improving outcomes for disadvantaged pupils.
As both an English and Maths Lead, Charlotte has embedded evidence-informed approaches into curriculum design and professional development, drawing on research to drive whole-school improvement. She has led successful projects in curriculum design, implementation and improving teaching and learning. She has shared her expertise through wider networks and training opportunities.
Charlotte is passionate about supporting teachers and leaders to engage with research in meaningful ways and translating evidence into practice that has a measurable impact. In her role as Operational Lead at Staffordshire Research School, she is committed to building strong partnerships and leading the translation of research into effective strategies that improve life chances for all pupils.
Nathan Morland – Director of the John Taylor Teaching School Hub & Research School Strategic Link
Nathan is the Director of the John Taylor Teaching School Hub and John Taylor SCITT and Research School Strategic Link. After establishing the Staffordshire Research School and leading it since its designation in 2019, Nathan has been involved in many Research School partnerships with LAs and MATs, both locally and nationally. As a secondary specialist, Nathan oversees the integration of research and evidence across the DfE’s ‘Golden Thread’ of teacher development, from Initial Teacher Training to System Leadership.
The Staffordshire Research School support the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) in its mission to breaking the link between family income and educational achievement. We do this by supporting schools to improve teaching and learning through better use of evidence.
In addition to our core team, to facilitate training and partnership work of the highest quality we will look to draw upon a range of facilitators from across the John Taylor MAT, our wider network of Alliance schools and nationally recognised experts in their fields.
