Thank you for your interest in our Disciplinary literacy webinar series: Disciplinary literacy – communicating subjects through their own languages
Join us as we explore how secondary schools can improve literacy in all subject areas.
Our sessions will consider strategies that every teacher can use to teach their students to read and communicate effectively in their subject.
We are running two webinars for every subject covered – Maths, History, English and Science. We will be covering theory and practice, using worked examples.
This series is for Secondary school teachers and Heads of Department in all curriculum subjects, as well as Senior Leaders.
Schools can send different members of staff to each of the subject sessions – but we advise attendees to come to both sessions in that subject.
Sessions will take place from 3.45 – 4.45pm:
Disciplinary Literacy in Maths. With Amarbeer Singh Gill. 29 January and 13 February.
Disciplinary Literacy in History. With Dom Bell and Deanna Ridley-Hammond. 26 February and 6 March.
Disciplinary Literacy in English literature. With Johnny Richards and Ricky Cooksey. 13 March and 20 March.
Disciplinary Literacy in Science. With Niki Kaiser. 27 March and 3 April.
