ASPIRER RESEARCH SCHOOL TOP 10 HIGHLIGHTS OF THE YEAR!

  1. The publication of the EEF Improving Maths at KS2/3 Guidance report – and listening to the remarkable Pete Henderson discuss how the report was developed.
  2. Hosting a remarkable day’s conference with the UKLA and the inspirational Prof Teresa Cremin, sharing the research about developing reading cultures in schools.
  3. The opening of the new Training Suite at Ash Grove Academy
  4. The return of live teaching observations as part of our training course – it is fantastic to be able to consider what it really looks like in reality with living, breathing children (who don’t always do what you hope they will!)
  5. The Research2Teaching Seminar series with the fantastic Dr Angela Webb from the National Handwriting Association launching the programme.
  6. Sharing the amazing outcomes for children from the EYs Raising Attainment in Literacy we ran with Cheshire East LA
  7. Working with the newly established Research Schools to build the network and learn from each other.
  8. Running Improving Literacy at KS1 training with a wonderful group of teachers in Gloucestershire
  9. The Making Best Use of Teaching Assistants in the Maths Lesson programme – a new, but extremely successful course for us.
  10. Updating of the Early Years Toolkit on the EEF website – good to have a reason to go back to this.
