St Matthew’s Research school are excited about recruiting a number of Evidence Leads in Education (ELE), for the first time. The ELEs will contribute to evidence-informed school improvement and will be designated by ourselves, supported by the Education Endowment Foundation.


So, what will it involve?

Duration: There is no pre-defined time commitment for ELE work. Deployment will vary according to need and capacity.

Commitment: Successful applicants must have a commitment to outreach work. They must also have the capacity to undertake such work, with the full support of their Head Teacher. This will be capped at a maximum of 4 days per academic year (for which the ELE’s home school will be recompensed).

Cost: There is no cost to apply. Successful applicants will be entitled to training (at no cost to their school). When outreach work is planned and booked, the Research School will cover all costs to the ELE’s home school, including supply cover.

Application timeline

  • Applications open – Friday 25th October 2019
  • Applications close – Friday 15th November 2019 at 5pm
  • Applicants notified – Friday 22nd November 2019
  • Interview date/​outcome – Tuesday 10th December 2019

Interviews will be held at: St Matthew’s Research School, Duddeston Manor Road, Nechells, Birmingham, B74JR.
