More info

Teacher quality matters to pupil outcomes and therefore teacher development proves one of the most effective ways to drive school improvement. But why is it so hard to change our habits in the classroom? And what models for professional development are most likely to support teacher development?

The Designing Effective Professional Development programme explores the best available evidence on continuous professional development, both nationally and internationally. It will focus on the EEF Guidance Report Effective Professional Development, published in Autumn 2021.

Delegates will:

  • Explore the essential evidence on professional development
  • Explore how we can support our teachers to change when change is really hard, and learn why PD doesn’t always work
  • Deepen their understanding of the mechanisms for effective professional development and how to apply these to design/delivery
  • Create a balanced design for professional development and a bespoke plan tailored to context

Aimed at:

CPD Leads, Faculty CPD Leads and Senior Leaders in primary and secondary schools
