A four-session evidence-based approach to developing curriculum at secondary subject level
Luton LA and Sandringham Research School are very pleased to be able to offer a specific training programme for middle leaders in Luton secondary schools to best support students to recover and accelerate in the coming academic year.
The course will cover
- Session 1 – Effective curriculum planning and sequencing – including schema theory, short and long-term memory – explore stage
- Session 2 – Effective curriculum delivery – pedagogy for long-term learning including retrieval practice and elaboration – prepare stage
- Session 3 – Effective targeted intervention to help recover and accelerate – how to diagnose and respond to students’ needs both in and out of the classroom – implementation stage
- Session 4 – Effective metacognition and self-regulation – enabling students to be effective independent learners – sustain stage
Delivery
Sessions 1, 2 and 4 will be virtual Sessions 3 will be offered face to face at a venue in Luton
