I am a Deputy Director (Primary) for Pinnacle Learning Research School and a Year 3 teacher at Broadfield Primary School. I have been teaching for five years and, during this time, have taken on a range of leadership responsibilities, including leading phonics, reading and writing across the school.
Alongside my school based roles, I have worked as a Literacy Specialist for the English Hub, supporting schools across the North West to strengthen their approach to early reading and literacy. I also work as a Specialist Leader of Education (SLE) for the Trust, working collaboratively with colleagues across schools to develop practice and support school improvement.
Currently, I am the Phonics and Writing Lead at Broadfield Primary School, where I coach and support colleagues, monitor teaching and learning, and contribute to the ongoing development of our English provision. I am also passionate about supporting teachers at different stages of their careers and regularly mentor ECTs and Initial Teacher Training (ITT) students.
I completed my NPQLT in 2025. Through this qualification, alongside my experience of working with other schools to implement and evaluate improvement projects, I developed a strong interest in educational research and evidence-informed teaching. Seeing how research can be translated into meaningful changes in classroom practice ultimately led me to my role as Deputy Director for Pinnacle Learning Research School.
