: Mark Giles Principal, Hathershaw College

Mark is Principal at The Hathershaw College, a position he has held since September 2019. He has worked at the school for 17 years, having held a number of senior team positions before his current role. Hathershaw is an Ofsted rated good school, including for behaviour and attitudes. With 44% of students in receipt of pupil premium and an above average number of children with SEND, Mark and the team at the school have developed approaches to behaviour management to respond to some of the challenges they face. Prior to working at Hathershaw, Mark worked for 10 years at a school in Blackburn serving a very similar demographic to that of Hathershaw.
