How do small schools know whether improvement work (action plans, school development plan etc) is being implemented well — and whether it is making a difference?
Small schools need monitoring and evaluation systems that are useful, manageable and proportionate. We often know our pupils, staff and community incredibly well. But when time and capacity are limited, it can be difficult to step back and evaluate whether an improvement strategy is really working.
The first of our summer Evidence Network meetings is a practical online session on Monitoring and Evaluation for Small Primary Schools, exploring how leaders can track implementation, evaluate impact, interpret small-cohort data carefully, and make better improvement decisions without adding unnecessary workload.
