London South Research School works with teachers and school leaders in London, the South East and further afield, to help schools and trusts make better use of research evidence to improve the quality of teaching and learning and raise outcomes, especially for children from disadvantaged backgrounds. 

We offer specific expertise in a range of areas:

  • Reading in EYFS, KS1 and 2
  • Reading Fluency – see our national Fluency Focus trial
  • Improving Writing in EYFS, KS1 and 2 – including Supported Sentences
  • Curriculum development and design
  • Disciplinary literacy, including explicit vocabulary teaching
  • Pedagogy, including adaptive and inclusive teaching
  • Making the most of your Pupil Premium strategy
  • Wellbeing
  • Behaviour
  • SEND

Bespoke support to suit you

We work in partnership with trusts and groups of schools. These partnerships can extend over a year or longer and are built around trust priorities in order to ensure that evidence-informed practice is embedded successfully.

We also offer one-off or short course training sessions in any of the above for school and trust teams.

We work with you in the way that suits you best. Working in partnership over time builds capacity, deep change and embeds practice. Shorter courses provide a starting point which can then be followed up by your in-school team.
