Research School Network: London South Research School

London South Research School at Charles Dickens, part of the national Research Schools Network, works collaboratively with schools across South London and the South East to bring education research into life. With the central aim of breaking the link between family income and education attainment through better use of evidence, we support schools to access, understand and apply research evidence in practice.

With an outstanding track record of evidence-informed practice at Charles Dickens, and experience of leading EEF-funded pilots and trials, we help schools to implement proven teaching strategies that directly improve outcomes for children, both academically and through their creative, social and emotional development.

Our blogs, briefings and online training programmes are aimed at anyone wanting to make better use of evidence in practice, whether school leaders, support staff, teachers or trust executives.

We provide bespoke programmes of support to schools, Trusts, Local Authorities and national networks driving school improvement and are currently leading an EEF-funded pilot evaluation of Fluency Focus – improving reading outcomes through explicit teaching of fluency strategies.
