More info
Metacognition and self-regulation is one of the most accessed strands of the EEF Teaching and Learning Toolkit with on average an impact of 7 months’ additional progress. To capitalise on the potential of developing these independent learning skills, teachers and leaders need to understand what they are and how to develop them across the age ranges.
Who is this course for?
Senior leaders, heads of departments or key stage leaders from primary, secondary and special schools. Attendees will need a deep understanding of their organisation and the authority to affect change within it.
The success of the programme is as dependent on the inter-session activities as it is on the live sessions. Therefore we recommend participants calendar 90 minutes between the live dates in order to engage with these tasks successfully.
Delegates will:
- Develop an understanding of metacognition & self-regulation
- Be provided with the tools and processes for self-review
- Be provided with guidance on effective implementation
- Be offered practical resources and tools to use in school
- Be given the skills and knowledge to be able to offer in-school training that is evidence based
