- Introduction to the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) and Research School
- Beliefs and assumptions around disadvantage

Inter-session module: school audit tool


Module 2: Friday 7 May 2021
- In the classroom: an excellent teacher in front of every class.
- Improving teaching: metacognition
- Example completed tiered models 

Inter-session module: Implementation planning for the teaching’ section of the tiered model


Module 3: Tuesday 25 May 2021
- Structured interventions: providing targeted academic support.
- Principles of good assessment
- Examples of targeted intervention and how to evaluate bought-in packages
- Identifying the active ingredients of an intervention

Inter-session module: Return to implementation plans: address the targeted intervention’ strand of the tiered model


Module 4: Monday 14 June 2021
- In the school: addressing non-academic barriers to success
- Non-academic barriers to success
- Behaviour, Learning behaviours


Module 5: Friday 25 June 2021
· Parental engagement and attendance
· Completing implementation plans

Follow-up module: Return to implementation plans – address wider strategies’ strand of tiered model



Target Audience

For Headteachers, Governors, Pupil Premium coordinators and school leaders supporting disadvantaged students. Note that we strongly recommend that at least two members of the same school attend to aid collaboration.
