As I write this it seems hard to believe that we have been a Research School for a full year and year two is already underway. What a privilege it has been to be able to meet and work with so many colleagues in schools who are passionate and focused upon improving outcomes for our young people.

The research school network has grown significantly since last September with the addition of 6 new schools announced last April and a further 11 announced in July specifically located in opportunity areas. This now brings the total to 22 nationally, with Yorkshire and the Humber having added Dixons Academies in Bradford, Esk Valley Alliance for the North Yorkshire Coast and Partners in Learning in Doncaster.
