Why?
Since 2019 gaps between disadvantaged pupils and their peers have been widening in key areas such as attendance, suspensions and some academic outcomes. There are complex reasons behind this and, while the statutory PP strategy documents are a starting point, significant thinking, planning and monitoring is required behind them to bring a pupil premium strategy to life.

What?

This programme will feature in-person input, pre-recorded content, planning time and the opportunity for peer collaboration and networking. Delegates will have access to resources via an online resource bank Padlet

- Pre-course content covering the statutory responsibilities and paperwork requirements for a school’s Pupil Premium strategy

- 10th November: A first session focused on planning, with emphasis on the effective implementation and evaluation designed to support you through the academic year 2025 – 2026 and to plan for 2026 – 2027. This session will also ensure schools are up-to-date on paperwork ahead of the December 31st deadline for updating PP strategies online

- 11th March: A mid-year review to monitor progress against goals established in October

- 29th June: An end-of-year review and opportunity to plan ahead to the following academic year

Who is this for?

School leaders from all phases who have responsibility for leading Pupil Premium. It will be especially useful for those new to this role.

Facilitated by leaders with experience of leading early years, primary and secondary
