Course overview
This programme is designed for school leaders and teachers who want to learn more about supporting students with reading across the curriculum.
The in-person day will explore some of the barriers students face when reading in lessons, and how teachers can help them overcome these through a range of practical, evidence-informed classroom strategies.
Key features
• We begin by looking at the science of reading, and why good reading instruction is so essential, particularly for disadvantaged learners.
• Participants will gain an understanding of how to support students in ‘reading to learn’, with reading being a vital tool for building academic knowledge in all subjects.
• Attendees will receive an accompanying resource that explains and exemplifies 27 high impact strategies for supporting students before, during and after reading.
