Leading PP Disadvantage in Education Expert
Marc is currently working with the Education Endowment Foundation’s Research School Network on the roll out of their national Pupil Premium training programme. He is also working, country-wide, on a range of programmes focused on educational disadvantage and is the adviser for improving outcomes for disadvantaged learners for the Unity Schools Partnership.
Director of Gloucestershire Research School
As Director of the Gloucestershire Research School – the first of its kind in the county – Laura is focused on building links and connections with schools and networks to support collaborative work that raises the attainment of disadvantage pupils. She is also keen to provide plentiful CPD opportunities for school staff across all roles to explore, discuss and use evidence research with impact in their schools.
Director of Somerset Research School
Tom has been teaching for 24 years and has held various leadership roles in two large secondary schools in the South West. He facilitates a number of Research Schools Network training programmes alongside managing the work of our growing group of ELE & EA’s. Tom also delivers keynote presentations at conferences and events across the region. Tom is passionate about engaging with research evidence to improve teaching and learning and enjoys supporting other professionals to do the same.
EEF National Delivery Manager
Lorwyn joined the EEF in September 2019 having led Kingsbridge Research School from 2016. He has twelve years teaching and school leadership experience, during which time he completed a Masters in Education Research at Exeter University focussing on dialogic teaching and led an EEF cognitive science pilot study on self-testing. Before working in education, Lorwyn spent three years working for Torbay Social Services.
EEF Regional Delivery Lead
Before joining the EEF, Charlotte worked as an Assistant Headteacher and teacher of English in a large 11 – 18 comprehensive school in central Bristol. She has over 12 years teaching and school leadership experience, including senior leadership roles specialising in Behaviour, Attendance, Inclusion and Raising Standards. She has worked with MAT CEOs, Governors, Headteachers and Senior Leadership Teams across the South West, building professional partnerships to improve pupil outcomes in the region.
Deputy Director of Gloucestershire Research School
Jenn has 19 years’ experience in education, working across a range of key stages and leadership roles within Gloucestershire, Bristol and Worcestershire. She is currently part of the School Improvement Team for The GLA Trust. Jenn’s responsibilities also include leading disadvantage across the trust, being a member of the BASIC coaching team and the Associate Team. As Deputy Director of the Gloucestershire Research School, Jenn builds relationships with schools and networks to support collaborative work that raises the attainment of disadvantage pupils.
Deputy Director of Somerset Research School
Will is part of the team delivering ‘Making sense of Metacognition’ and ‘Effective Learning Behaviours’ programmes. Will also contributes to other Somerset Research School CPD programmes sharing invaluable knowledge, expertise and subject-specific recommendations.
GLA Trust Behaviour and Inclusion Lead
Danny has 13 years of teaching and leadership experience across primary, secondary, further education, university and alternative provision sectors. He has supported a variety of national schools with school improvement strategies and Ofsted preparations and is currently part of the GLA School Improvement Team as Behaviour and Inclusion Lead at The GLA Trust.
