About us

As the first Research School in Gloucestershire and one of 33 Research Schools nationally, Gloucestershire Research School aims to support schools and practitioners to explore research evidence and put it to use in their settings with impact. We support schools to make better use of evidence to inform their teaching and learning and develop a strong pedagogy that is research based and inclusive of professional expertise.

Our aim is to ensure that this improves outcomes for all children, but especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds in line with the EEF mission. We help teachers and school leaders get‘closer to the evidence’ through communication, training and support for implementation.

The Gloucestershire Research School is based in the Gloucestershire Learning Alliance (GLA), a small multi-academy trust operating ten primary schools in Gloucestershire and Worcestershire.

The Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) is an independent charity dedicated to breaking the link between family income and educational achievement. We do this by supporting schools, nurseries and colleges to improve teaching and learning through better use of evidence.

EEF Mission

Alongside supporting schools in Gloucestershire, we work in partnership with a well-established network of schools, trusts and federations across the whole of the South West to improve the quality of education for young people living in the region without fear or favour.

If you would like to know more about the EEF mission and our work, please do not hesitate to get in touch using the contact us’ page or by directly emailing our Research School Director, Laura Spence at lspence@glatrust.org.uk
