A Three-Part Webinar Series from Unity Research School and Essex Research School
Unity Research School and Essex Research School is delighted to offer a free three-part webinar series focused on maximising the impact of the Pupil Premium.
Reviewing and improving the quality of participating schools’ pupil premium strategies will be a key theme throughout.
Each session will explore practical strategies, leadership approaches, and evidence-informed practices to help schools make the most effective use of their Pupil Premium funding.
Part 1: Setting the Foundations – 11 March 2026 – 4:00 – 5:00pm
• High expectations for all
• Developing an inclusive culture
• A strength-based discourse – preconceived possibility rather than difficulty
• Securing leadership at all levels
• Research evidence use
• Understanding implementation and impact evaluation – focusing on the controllable
Part 2: Addressing Need and Disadvantage – 15 April 2026 – 4:00 – 5:00pm
• Assessment of need, rather than assumption based on labels
• Understanding the impact of low family income on learning, wellbeing, opportunity, confidence, and agency
• Collective understanding, collective responsibility
• Addressing disadvantage in the classroom
• Targeted academic support – core components of an effective approach
