From Research to Classroom Practice: Effective Implementation in Schools

Free PD Event

This practical and thought‑provoking PD event, led by Lacey Davies (Essex Research School), will explore how schools can approach implementation deliberately, using evidence from the EEF guidance report alongside real school-based practice.

Drawing on school experience, Communities of Practice, and the EEF’s Effective Implementation guidance, Lacey will explore:

• Start with diagnosis – identifying the real problems before selecting solutions

• Define the active ingredients – being explicit about what needs to change in adult behaviour.

• Prepare before you launch – building shared understanding and the right conditions.

• Implementation over time – phased roll-out with modelling, rehearsal and deliberate practice.

• Support, monitor, adapt – using feedback and evidence to refine implementation

• Embed for sustainability – securing lasting change through routines, habits and leadership alignment.

Who’s it for?

Whether you’re a senior leader, middle leader or classroom practitioner, this session will offer practical strategies, clear frameworks and real examples to support effective implementation in your own context.

Join us for a focused exploration of how evidence can move beyond intention and into sustained classroom practice.
