With over 30 years of experience in primary education, including more than 20 years as Deputy Headteacher and now as a Headteacher, Rachel brings a wealth of expertise and passion to our team.

At Lyons Hall Primary School, Rachel played a pivotal role in the Behaviour Hub and Teaching School initiatives. She also partnered with Essex County Council to design and lead a county-wide reading program, empowering teachers to ensure every child achieves reading proficiency. Her work has expanded beyond Essex, as she collaborates with schools and trusts across regions to elevate reading instruction.

Rachel is deeply passionate about educational research and committed to making a difference in closing the educational disadvantage gap. She believes that through research-informed practices, it’s possible to create more equitable learning experiences for all children. Rachel firmly believes in education’s transformative power to open doors and create opportunities for every child, regardless of background, to reach their full potential.

Beyond school leadership, research and literacy, Rachel has a love for music, having led choirs, orchestras, and even a school steel band!
