ELE, School Improvement Lead with responsibility for Pupil Premium
Rachel is a School Improvement Lead working across a multi-academy trust, with responsibility for Pupil Premium, Careers Education, PSHE/RSE, enrichment, ECTs and transition. She works closely with school leaders to design and implement evidence-informed strategies that improve outcomes for pupils, drawing on the EEF’s research and the DfE’s guidance.
With over a decade of experience in education, Rachel has held a range of roles including PE Teacher, Head of Department, Head of Year, Specialist Leader of Education (SLE) and Assistant Headteacher. She brings a strong understanding of both classroom practice and whole-school leadership.
Rachel has led the development of systems for identifying gaps and intervention needs, planning, implementation and tracking impact, supporting schools to strengthen their use of research to inform practice, and facilitated professional networks to build leadership capacity. She is particularly passionate about ensuring all students, regardless of background, have access to high-quality education and meaningful enrichment opportunities.
As an ELE with Essex Research School, Rachel is committed to supporting schools to translate evidence into practical, sustainable improvement strategies. She has a particular interest in implementation, professional development, and building coherent whole-school approaches that secure long-term impact.
