Emma Bradshaw

Research Advocate, Senior Teacher and Curriculum Lead

Emma Bradshaw is a senior teacher and Curriculum Lead at Lyons Hall Primary School. With over 30 years’ experience in primary education, working primarily in school, but also previously as a Local Authority Teaching and Learning consultant, Emma has developed a deep understanding of effective primary classroom practice.

Passionate about addressing educational disadvantage, Emma believes that the effective teaching of reading is fundamental in bringing this about. In conjunction with Rachel Pritchard, the headteacher at Lyons Hall Primary School, Emma has developed, and continues to facilitate, a four-day reading comprehension programme. Over the past six years, this has been attended by hundreds of teachers from both primary and secondary schools across Essex and beyond, impacting positively on reading outcomes for children.

Emma’s current roles include: leading whole-school curriculum development; school-to-school support; writing and delivering CPD in reading comprehension and spelling; facilitating training including the NPQLL and NPQLT for Ambition Institute, the Creative Teacher and Outstanding Teacher Programmes, and primary SCITT English, History and Geography; mentoring ECTs.

Emma brings an abundance of experience and expertise to our Research Team and we are delighted to have her working with us and supporting our mission to close the educational disadvantage gap across our region.
