Ben Cadigan
ELE, Lead Mentor and Subject Lead in History with Buckinghamshire Partnership SCITT
Ben has 17 years’ experience teaching Secondary History and has also examined AQA A level. He has held leadership roles in an upper school setting and is currently Head of Key Stage 5 History, teaching across Years 9, 11, 12 and 13. Alongside his school role, he works as a Lead Mentor and Subject Lead for History with the Buckingham Partnership SCITT, where he delivers training, supports ITaPs, and visits trainees in schools.
He has contributed to school improvement work and completed the NPQLTD in 2023, the NASBTT Leadership and Management course in 2025, and StepLab conference training earlier this year.
He is particularly interested in developing high quality professional development and in using evidence informed approaches within both initial teacher training and wider CPD, while continuing to deepen his own subject knowledge in History.
