We are the Research School for East London.

The foundations of our approach are trust and collaboration. We are focused on using evidence is to improve the life chances of children and young people in East London, and beyond.

Our team developed Manor Park Talks, the EEF-funded programme to improve children’s early communication. This has grown into Newham Communication Project, an evidence-informed programme involving more than 40 early years settings and schools. We working on this in partnership with the UCL Institute of Education, the World’s Number One university for education, and with the New Vision English Hub.

We are currently working on a major new programme focused on helping young children to learn about maths through picture books, with the support of the London North East Maths Hub.

We are working with the charity PEEPLE to create a new programme to support children’s early learning in STEM.

We have presented our research at international conferences and in peer-reviewed journals. We are proud of the academic credibility of our work, and also its practical application. We are making a real difference to the children and young people we work with.

We have a team of Evidence Leads in Education, based on both London and Essex, to deliver programmes and offer bespoke support to schools.

If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.’
