As another term gets started, we would like to thank the 383 teachers and leaders we have worked with so far this academic year, in one form or another. Whether that is through attending one of our training programmes, or a twilight session, or a meeting to discuss evidence informed practice – we are really enjoying growing our network and learning together, as we all seek to find ways of mobilising the vast body of research evidence that is out there.
This term, we will be planning our programme of training and twilights for 2018 – 19, so please do email us with any suggestions of topics that you would like to be included.
We have included 3 free new twilights for this term (further details below):
- An evidence informed approach to improving attendance
- Cognitive Load Theory – what is it and why is it so important for teachers to understand?
- Using the EEF metacognition guidance report.
Here are the key events we are hosting this term.
- Tuesday 17th April – Session 3 of our ‘School Research Leads development Programme’. During this session we will be looking at how schools can effectively mobilise research evidence and evaluate its impact. If you haven’t attended the previous two sessions, this would stand alone well if you’re interested in mobilising research evidence in your school.
- Tuesday 24th April – ‘Innovation Evaluation Grant workshop’ – for those colleagues who are interested in applying for an IEE innovation evaluation grant (see link for further details).
- Tuesday 24th April – Journal Club to discuss the paper ‘Addressing achievement gaps with psychological interventions’ – if you would like to join us, please email Lisa Edwards. We are starting at 3.45pm.
- Saturday 28th April – Durrigton ResearchEd – with 24 excellent speakers and 200 delegates, this promises to be a fantastic event.
