KARS Effective Professional Development

KENT Multi Day Training

This programme is offered through the EEFective Kent Project (EKP), a collaboration between Kent County Council and the EEF. Through the project, the cost of this programme has been subsidised as part of their dedication to support the implementation of evidence-based approaches and interventions in Kent.

Overview:

Teacher quality matters to pupil outcomes and therefore teacher development proves one of the most effective ways to drive school improvement. But why is it so hard to change our habits in the classroom? And what models for professional development are most likely to support teacher development?

In 2021, the EEF published the Effective Professional Development guidance report. This programme aims to familiarise school leaders with the essential evidence and key messages from the report and use them to plan the professional development for their staff to drive school improvement.

The programme is made up of 9 modules, with a blend of face-to-face, online and self-directed sessions. Also included within the course fee is at least half a day one-to-one support with an Evidence Lead in Education (ELE).
