Description

This one day programme will have two primary objectives: first to gain a thorough understanding of the principles of effective feedback; and second to consider how these principles can be implemented in a classroom and across a subject department or whole school. The EEF Teacher Feedback to Improve Student Learning’ guidance report will structure the day, with each of the six recommendations unpicked and interpreted.

Although It has long been established that feedback plays an essential role in learning, the current evidence base is patchy and even sometimes contradictory. The aim of this course, therefore, will be to demystify feedback. The day will begin with a review of the key principles behind effective feedback, before moving on to practical methods and then finishing with guidance on how to design and implement an effective department or whole-school feedback policy. Delegates will leave the day with a broad understanding of how feedback works, alongside concrete examples of simple, practical methods to put into action immediately.

This single-day training will be suitable both for classroom teachers looking to adapt their practice and for leaders looking at department and whole-school implementation.
