Research School Network: Research School Network Evidence Advocacy Webinar Programme A FREE six webinar series

The Evidence Advocacy Certification Programme is designed to help people move from passive recipients of research updates into active, skilled contributors who can influence teaching, leadership, and system-level decision-making within their schools and wider networks.

The programme codifies what effective evidence use looks like in practice, setting out the knowledge, attitudes and behaviours required to translate research into meaningful, sustained improvement – with a particular focus on improving outcomes for disadvantaged pupils.

This is a FREE programme open to Leaders, Middle Leaders, Teachers and Support Staff – anyone with an interest in engaging with and using research evidence to drive improved pupil outcomes.

Session 1 - Evidence Literacy: Becoming an Intelligent Consumer of Evidence

Purpose: Build foundational understanding of what counts as evidence and how to use it well.

Session 2 - Understanding Disadvantage: From Labels to Diagnosis

Purpose: Deepen understanding of disadvantage and sharpen diagnostic thinking for school improvement.

Session 3- Effective Implementation: Turning Evidence into Action

Purpose: Build capability to translate evidence into sustained practice change.

Session 4- Effective Professional Development: Designing for Change
February 9^th Tuesday 3:45 – 4:45

Purpose: Understand how to design professional development that leads to teacher behaviour change.

Session 5- Effective Facilitation: Leading Change Through Others
March 10^th Wednesday, 3.45 – 4.45pm

Purpose: Develop facilitation skills to influence thinking rather than simply deliver content.

Session 6- Communicating Evidence: Reaching Practitioners and Leaders

Purpose: Develop expertise in communicating evidence effectively through a range of formats and output.
