The Evidence Exemplification page at Derby Research School is a dynamic resource designed to bridge the gap between educational research and real-world classroom practice. Through videos, podcasts, and YouTube channels, the page offers educators practical insights from expert guest speakers who share their experiences of implementing evidence-based strategies. Highlighting both their successes and challenges, these educators provide valuable lessons to help others navigate the complexities of applying research in schools. This engaging platform fosters a collaborative learning environment, supporting teachers and leaders in refining their approach and improving student outcomes.
At Derby Research School, we are committed to ensuring our resources are accessible to all educators, including those in the deaf community. As part of this effort, we will provide BSL (British Sign Language) interpretation for as much of our video content as possible. Our Deputy Director, a qualified Teacher of the Deaf with a master’s in Deaf Education, will offer tailored support to leaders working with deaf communities, helping them adapt evidence-based practices to meet the unique needs of their settings. This ensures that our insights are both inclusive and impactful for all educators.
We’re excited to introduce our brand-new podcast ‘Research into the Classroom’, where we bring the latest educational research straight to the heart of the classroom. As a new initiative from Derby Research School, this podcast is designed for teachers, school leaders, and educators who are passionate about using evidence-based strategies to enhance student learning and outcomes.
Each episode will explore cutting-edge research, offer practical tools, and feature inspiring stories from experts and educators who are successfully applying these insights in their schools. Whether you’re looking to refine your teaching practice or learn about the latest developments in education, our podcast is here to support you every step of the way.
Join us as we bridge the gap between theory and practice, turning research into action that transforms classrooms and supports students in achieving their full potential.

The Early Years Evidence Store is a summary of evidence-informed approaches to help educators to understand and reflect on their practice. The approaches are illustrated with practices that typically make up the approach and a range of examples of what these might look like in practice.
The Early Years Evidence Store demonstrates that the approaches and practices can be implemented with children across different contexts for teaching and learning spanning adult-led and child-led learning opportunities in the Early Years Pedagogical Continuum.
Professional judgement and an understanding of your children are key to applying the evidence.
