At Derby Research School we are excited to be able to share with you our new CPD offer for 2022 – 2023.
Our core training offer falls into two categories. Quality of Education and Learning Behaviours. Under each heading we have our core themes and programmes that we feel sit at its heart.
The circular nature of the CPD model shows that all of the core programmes are interconnected and when combined together create highly effective practice. We have created this circular model to sign post you to further CPD opportunities after engaging in one of our core themes.
Each of the programmes are colour coded in terms of length and price. For example if your school priority is around metacognition, you could attend a twilight, build up to a short course and then to a full programme. We have also found that colleagues who have attended previous full day programmes find subsequent short courses and twilights a useful signpost to colleagues so they can build their in school implementation teams.
This model aims to highlight the interconnectedness of theories and practice and offers a flexible approach to supporting your school’s priorities based on school needs and budgets.
Below we have our two offers, with their core components:

There is a wealth of research out there about what makes teaching most impactful, particularly for our most vulnerable learners. The role of the Research School Network is to support them in accessing high quality evidence and implementing it well into classrooms.
This is the mission that has been set to us by the EEF and we are so pleased that we get to work with such amazing practitioners, schools, MATs and local authorities all passionate about making a difference for our children and learners.
As the Research School has grown, so has our scope and we work increasingly with schools across the East Midlands, including Derbyshire, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire, and beyond.
Take a look through the range of opportunities for our Core Offer for the academic year 2022 ‑2023. If you have any questions, or suggestions for future programmes please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
