This training is for secondary KS3& 4 science teachers, heads of science departments, and senior leaders.

Improving Secondary Science has been put together to breakdown the guidance report. The training will focus on the 7 Recommendations set out in the Guidance report:

· Understanding pupils’ preconceptions and building on their ideas

· Developing children’s abilities to self-regulate aspects of their learning.

· Using models to develop understanding

· Supporting pupils’ memory skills, so that they can retain and retrieve knowledge.

· Using experiments purposefully.

· Developing and supporting the use of scientific vocabulary

· Using structured feedback to move on pupils’ thinking

Due to the current situation we will be running this programme virtually and during twilight sessions rather than the 3 full days:
