The increased demands of the current national curriculum and exam specifications are key challenges facing schools.
In this new training programme, we will consider what evidence suggests are the teaching methods which best improve retention and recall, how better curriculum planning might improve student knowledge, and what the best strategies area to explicitly teach students for using at home.
Outcomes of the programme:
Develop your understanding of key concepts such as working memory
Evaluate current practice in your school or department
Trial methods in the classroom before developing a longer-term implementation plan
The programme is designed for subject leaders and senior leaders working in either primary or secondary-phase education
