A 4‑day programme aimed at leaders with responsibility for Teaching & Learning, middle leaders, and teachers at all phases.

Metacognition and self-regulation is one of the most accessed strands of the EEF Teaching and Learning Toolkit. But many teachers are not yet clear exactly how this can be applied in classrooms. Memory is increasingly important as GCSE exams move to 100% exam, and content at Key Stage 2, GCSE, and A‑level is more challenging than ever.

We will use the extensive evidence, including the new EEF metacognition guidance report, to enable you to make confident decisions that will help your pupils develop their memory, become aware of their strengths and limitations, and select the appropriate strategies when undertaking a task.
Delegates will:

  • Develop an understanding of metacognition and self-regulated learning
  • Be provided with the tools and processes for self-review and practical resources to use in the classroom
  • Be provided with guidance on effective implementation
  • Understand memory and how we can use findings from cognitive science to maximise learning
