Upcoming Manchester Institute of Education (MIE) Building Evidence into Education (BEE) blog

bee

The Manchester Institute of Education are very excited to announce the launch of their BEE blog. This blog aims to keep teachers up-to-date with their latest educational research by providing brief and accessible summaries of current research activity and publications. They will be sharing research that may inform decisions in teachers’ day-to-day practice, with a focus on educational and holistic outcomes. In addition, they will also offer overviews of notable research from the wider educational research community, such as research that is in the public eye. All posts will include actionable points for teachers suggesting how research findings might be applied within their own practice.

We’ll be launching on 17th April 2018 and you can find us at www.manchester.ac.uk/miebee. Some of our posts will cover:

  • Exposure to cumulative risk and mental health difficulties
  • Participation of young people with autism in their post-16 transitions
  • Measuring pupils’ non-academic outcomes

The project seeks to reach teachers in multiple roles, both SLT members and classroom-based teachers. The MIE are very interested in engaging with teachers within the Greater Manchester area as this is their immediate community, and so alongside their goal of increasing teachers’ awareness of MIE research activity, they are keen to share findings from internal evaluations that schools are carrying out themselves with the support of MIE initiatives and networks. If you would be interested in sharing your school’s research on the BEE, please contact thebee@manchester.ac.uk.

In the meantime follow on Twitter and Facebook to keep up-to-date with the latest information from the educational research community, and be the first to hear when the blog launches!
