The Wilmslow Academy, a two form entry school in Wilmslow and a member of The Aspire Educational Trust, talk to us about how they use evidence to inform their decision making and practice in school. They are currently implementing the recommendations from the EEF’s Preparing for Literacy Guidance Report, with a specific focus upon recommendation 1: prioritise the development of communication and language. They made the decision to focus upon this area in order to address the barriers they had identified for their disadvantaged learners.
Here, we have Charlotte Clowes, Principal of the Wilmslow Academy, talking to us about evidence informed practice in the school.
Now, Kath Bateman (the Early Years lead and one of the Reception class teachers at the Wilmslow Academy) talks to us about her experiences using the Preparing for Literacy guidance report research and putting it into practice in the classroom.
