Research Schools work with the other schools in their region to provide support for evidence-based practice.

There are currently five Research Schools, with more joining in September 2017.

Kyra Teaching School Alliance, Lincoln

Based at Mount Street Academy, Lincoln, the Kyra Research School works with a thriving collaboration of over 50 schools in the Teaching School Alliance and regional strategic partners, working together to be ambitious for all children.

Aspirer Teaching School Alliance, Macclesfield

Aspirer is based at Ash Grove Academy, a one form entry primary school in Macclesfield Cheshire. We are a National Teaching School and the founder member of the Aspire Educational Trust (AET) and the Aspirer Teaching School Alliance. Our school mission statement is simple; “Aspire! to be better learners, to be better leaders and to be happy”.

Kingsbridge Community College, Devon

Kingsbridge Community College is a Secondary Academy with approximately 1,400 students serving a rural community in South Devon. As a Teaching School we have developed strong links across the region and are a founding member of the South West Teaching Schools Alliance. Our aim is to be an outstanding learning community where individuals thrive.

Shireland Collegiate Academy, Sandwell

Shireland Collegiate Academy has been one of the pioneering schools in this country in the use of technology to support student progress and school improvement. We are an Inner city academy of 1,100 students aged 11 -18, located in the West Midlands that serves an area of substantial deprivation, and have been judged as Outstanding in 2006, 2010 and 2013.

Huntington School, York

Huntington Secondary School is a large 11 to 18 comprehensive school in the city of York. We have been one of the schools at the forefront of making evidence based practice the norm in schools.
