Evidence in action

Earlier this year the Education Endowment Foundation published their guidance report Improving Secondary Science, which offers seven clear and actionable recommendations focused on improving science teaching, particularly for disadvantaged pupils. 

Based on the best available evidence, it has been written specifically with secondary science teachers, heads of science departments, and senior school leaders in mind. Each recommendation is supported by examples of how it can be applied in practice, including how to get the most out of practical work and how to use structured feedback to move on pupils’ thinking.

In this series of short videos, commissioned by the Wellcome Trust, science teachers from three of our Research Schools talk about how they have used implemented the evidence and recommendations in their teaching.
